Douglas Stubbs

We also have the pleasure to offer the following Australia works donated by Dr Norman Gardiner, a member of the dig crew for well over a decade.
Renowned Australian Artist Douglas Stubbs (b 1927), was born in the country town of Leongatha in South Gippsland and came to Melbourne as a young man study at art school. Sometimes described as “naive art”, his highly imaginative works have been displayed in galleries all over the country. Stubbs is considered to be an under-recognised artist and there is a commonly-held view that his works are begging for a retrospective exhibition to bring together his considerable body of art.
